(Though I've not farmed for them either) you could look for a merchant in 1-3. the claymore should only be about 5-9k souls. Upgrade the claymore to +3 and then take it to the other blacksmith and you can take it down the Crushing path with greystone which removes DEX scaling and heavily boosts STR scaling. Missions are assigned as solo or group missions based on the Yoma's strength or rank.Claymores can be found in 1-2 at the end of the underground passageway and costs 6k souls,kind of pricey if you're early on in the game,but I'm unsure of the drop rates for Blue Eye Knights,I've never found one personally. (Though I've not farmed for them either) you could look for a merchant in 1-3. the claymore should only be about 5-9k souls..
